Back to league action on Saturday. It’s a must win as we don’t want to give Aberdeen any encouragement…

This Saturday sees us return to Scottish Premiership action as we travel to Perth to take on St Johnstone in the evening kickoff. We could very well find ourselves behind if Aberdeen get a result at Dens Park earlier in the afternoon.

That makes it all the more important that we win and keep our momentum going, especially with Aberdeen toe to toe with us, and great credit to them for their impressive start to the season.

One eye will naturally be on Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, but as they say the next match is always the vital one, and Perth on Saturday evening will be a very important game in Celtic’s season.  It’s vital that we keep up the momentum we’ve had this season and if we play to the best of our abilities I’ve no doubt we will be victorious.

With theRangers already lagging behind and not playing until Sunday they won’t even be in our thoughts, but as for Aberdeen that’s an entirely different matter.

The Dons have been something of a surprise package this season so far and we must give them the respect they deserve. That means we must go out and remain fully focused as we bid to beat St Johnstone. Only three points will suffice. Then we can start dreaming about getting a result in Dortmund on Tuesday night.

No-one gave Celtic much chance against either Manchester City or Chelsea in the summer in games that Brendan Rodgers used as preparation for nights like Tuesday. We put four goals past both English sides and won both games. Would be lovely if we could repeat the trick against last season’s beaten Champions League finalists.
