Francesco Acerbi feels that Inter Milan winning the Serie A title for the second star was “historic.”

The 37-year-old gave his thoughts in the matchday programme for today’s match against Feyenoord. He also hailed last summer’s signings for fitting into the team quickly.

Inter Milan won the Serie A title last season.

And it was a notable one on a few levels. Firstly, there was the fact that Inter won the title in such dominant fashion – nearly twenty points separated them from second place AC Milan in the table.

Then, there was the fact that Inter clinched the title in a derby against Milan.

Neither the Nerazzurri the Rossoneri had ever done so in history. But last April, Inter secured the title with a 2-1 win against their city rivals.

And it was an historic title on another level. Inter made it twenty league titles in their history – meaning that they were able to put a second star above their club crest.

Inter became only the second team to do so in the history of Italian football, after Juventus.

Acerbi: “Inter Milan Second Star Historic, The News Signings Settled In Right Away”

Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi said that “With the second star, we did something historic.”

“Those are the moments that will last forever,” he added.

Meanwhile, Acerbi also gave his thoughts on this season’s Inter squad. “We’re a great group,” he said. “This season there was an immediate chemistry with the new signings.”

“And at the same time, the relationship with the players who were already here has also matured.”

“That’s partly down to the coach and his staff,” said Francesco Acerbi.

The 37-year-old Italian international continued that “At Inter there are a lot of top players.”

“I think it’s important to have a lot of humility,” he commented. “But at the same time, to be able to express yourself without fear.”

“Football has taught me the strength of the group,” Acerbi said. “What it means to fight together for a goal, and how to overcome the difficult moments.”
