Alessandro Bastoni addressed the press in the build-up to Saturday’s Champions League final between PSG and Inter Milan.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri stalwart previewed the game and rated his seasonal performance.
It’s been a season of high expectations and heartbreaking failures for the 20-time Italian champions.
In addition to losing to AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana final, they surrendered their Serie A crown to Napoli.
Furthermore, the Rossoneri proved Inter’s scourge in the Coppa Italia semi-final, denying them another piece of domestic silverware.
However, all those setbacks will fade into insignificance if Inter triumph in the upcoming European showdown.
Simone Inzaghi will contest his second Champions League final as Inter manager.
Though the 2023 fixture went wrong, there’s still a feel-good factor around the San Siro camp.

Widely considered among Europe’s finest defenders, Alessandro Bastoni was part of the Inter squad that lost the 2023 final.
However, like his teammates, he has dusted himself off and is ready to make amends in Munich.
Inter will take the field as a pre-match underdog, just as they did against Manchester City two years ago.
“Experience tells me that there’s never a favorite in a final,” Bastoni claimed. “We saw that in Istanbul.
“City were considered favorites, they won, but it was a very open game that could’ve gone either way.
“We need to be 1000% focused because on Saturday we’re playing a match that can change our careers. It’s a hugely important occasion.
“Winning the Champions League, like the World Cup, has been a dream of mine since I was a child.
“We’ll have to be sharp and mentally fresh because, on Saturday, anything can happen.”
Finally, asked to rate his season, Bastoni replied: “I’d say an 8, which could become a 10 if we win.”
