Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi spoke about his experience at the club following his team’s win over Lazio in the Super Cup semi-final.

The 24-year-old once again started on the bench, with Simone Inzaghi relying on the tried and tested midfield trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Nevertheless, the Italian made the most out of his second-half cameo, scoring in the final minutes to stamp his mark on a resounding 3-0 win.

This isn’t the first time the former Sassuolo man scores off the bench. He has made his presence count in the Derby against Milan, in addition to scoring a valuable winner against Hellas Verona.

Yet, Frattesi admits that it hasn’t been easy for him to break in at a team that has an already established solid foundation.

“I feel like I’ve improved compared to the start of the season,” said the Italy international in his post-match interview with Inter TV via FcInterNews.

“However, it’s never easy to break in a team that’s already been in place for several years.”

Nonetheless, Frattesi hails his team for their great attitude on the pitch and strong mentality.

“We’re two steps ahead compared to when I started. One of the best traits of this team is driving forward even after taking the lead. This attitude is required to go all the way in all competitions

“It’s not easy to maintain intensity until the end because throughout the season, there are ups and downs,

“But I think in the first half, we made the difference on the mental level. We did the same against Monza.”

“We didn’t let them implement their ideas into play. This was an excellent match from the get-go.

“Now we turn our attention to Napoli. We want to win the cup.”

The Nerazzurri will clash heads with the Italian champions Napoli in Monday’s final. Inzaghi’s men will be looking to clinch their third straight Super Cup triumph.
