Italy Star Declares ‘Inter Milan Sent A Message’ Vs Barcelona – ‘You Don’t Play In A Champions League Semifinal Every Year’

Alessandro Bastoni feels that Inter Milan “sent a message” with their performance in yesterday’s Champions League draw against Barcelona.
The 26-year-old spoke to InterTV after the 3-3 draw, via FCInterNews. He noted the gravity of the occasion, which Inter “don’t play in every year.”
Inter Milan took on Barcelona in the first leg of a Champions League semifinal tie yesterday.
The Nerazzurri knew that they were up against one of their most formidable challenges of the entire season.
But it was clear that Inter were treating the match as a a potentially season-defining occasion.,

Inter Milan had lost three matches prior to yesterday’s clash with Barcelona.
Therefore, the confidence may not necessarily have been at its highest heading into the match.
But Inter took a result that could be a platform to book their place in the Champions League final in next week’s semifinal second leg.
And Nerazzurri defender Alessandro Bastoni beamed, “I’m proud of the result and of the performance by the team.”?
“It was important for us to send a message in a Champions League semifinal. That’s something that you don’t play in every year.”
Then, Bastoni admitted that “we feel some regret, because we were ahead twice.”
“It would have been nice to take home a win. But the draw is a fair result.”
Then, Bastoni said that “we’re certain that in the second leg our fans will give us a big hand.”
“We live for moments like this,” declared the Italian international.
Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni also gave his thoughts on reaching 250 appearances for Inter Milan.
“I hope that I can make the same number more,” said the 26-year-old.
Then, Bastoni admitted that “the title race has become a bit uphill for us.”
“But we still believe in it. We have to give our all.”
Bastoni called yesterday’s clash with Barcelona “a great, entertaining match.”
“There were a lot of chances for both sides,” the Italian international said. “But we have to recognize the quality of Barcelona.”
