French daily L’Equipe gave Gianluigi Donnarumma a scathing review for his work in Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League loss to Barcelona, suggesting he was the worst on the pitch.

The Parisian giants fell 1-0 down at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night before turning things around to go 2-1 up. Everything changed after the hour mark, when goals from Raphinha and Andreas Christensen drove Xavi’s side to an important 3-2 win in the French capital.

Donnarumma was heavily criticised by PSG and Italy fans during the Champions League match, considered at fault for allowing the opening goal with his unconvincing initial clearance and for remaining rooted to the spot during the corner that saw Barcelona’s third goal.

L’Equipe had nothing positive to say about Donnarumma for his performance in PSG’s loss to Barcelona, giving him a dreadful rating of 3, the lowest on the pitch alongside Kylian Mbappe.

Their review suggested he struggled with the pressures and speeds of the match, failing to look particularly convincing or reliable for any of the three goals, saying via TMW: “When the mountains arrive, once again he got caught up in the emotion.

“Bad on the three goals, he didn’t handle Yamal’s cross well, he wasn’t precise in his approach on the second and could’ve done better on the occasion of Christensen’s goal.”
