Serie A side Fiorentina picked up a 2-1 win over Milan at the weekend in what was a thrilling game of football.
Three penalties were given in the game and all of them were saved. David de Gea saved two of them, denying Theo Hernandez and Tammy Abraham in each half and making a key save off Samuel Chukwueze late in the game, to make sure that the game remained at 2-1.
Fiorentina got a goal each through Yacine Adli and Albert Gudmundsoon, as they scored on either side of a Christian Pulisic goal.
Italy legend Dino Zoff recently spoke about De Gea in a chat with Radio Bruno. He had some praise for the Spaniard’s performance against Milan.
He said, as relayed by ViolaNews: “Congratulations to De Gea. Saving a penalty is already important, saving two is incredible. He recovered well from the stoppage. I have never saved two penalties like that.”
The goalkeeper arrived at the club on a free transfer and he has started playing after a spell of over 12 months on the sidelines after his exit from Manchester United. It now does seem as if he going back to his best.
