Legendary former Juventus, Inter, Parma, and Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro feels that AC Milan are the favourites to defender their Serie A title, with Inter, Juventus, and Roma the three teams behind them.

Speaking to Italian news agency ANSA, via FCInterNews, Cannavaro gave his predictions for the upcoming Serie A title race and named the Rossoneri as the team best-placed to win it.

This season’s Scudetto race has the potential to be as competitive and predictable as last season’s, and possibly even more, with a number of clubs at the top of the league having taken the opportunity to strengthen during the summer transfer window.

Inter, Juventus, and Roma have all been active in the transfer market this summer and could be hoping to improve on their finishes in the table from the prior campaign, but it is still the Rossoneri who have just proven that they have what it takes to win the title.

“The Rossoneri are the favourites because they’re Italian champions,” Cannavaro argued, “and then behind them are Inter, Juventus, and Roma, with the Giallorossi now on a par with the top teams fighting for the Scudetto.”
