The 24-year-old is young, Italian, has affordable wages and has excelled in a three-man defense.

Nevertheless, the main obstacle for the Italian champions remains Torino’s asking price. The Granata are reportedly seeking 40 million euros to part ways with their youth product.

Therefore, Inter are trying to put together a plan. This could include selling 19-year-old talent Valentin Carboni (currently on loan at Monza) to raise funds. The Argentine’s value is around 30 million euros.

Another solution could be an operation similar to Davide Frattesi’s move from last season. In other words, an initial loan with an obligation to buy, which could also include a youngster like Francesco Pio Esposito as a makeweight.

Moreover, the source believes Buongorino himself could help the Nerazzurri secure the deal. This is because the defender reportedly prefers to join Inter over any other suitor.

The Italian has admirers abroad, including Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid. However, the report claims he intends to remain on Italian soil.

Inter Milan The Preferred Destination For Torino Defender Alessandro Buongiorno

As for the Serie A suitors, Napoli hasn’t convinced him due their current status, while his Torino allegiance means he’ll reject Juventus’ approach.

The centre-back had given his consent to join AC Milan in January, but their offer was too low to satisfy Torino.

But at the moment, Buongiorno reportedly considers Inter as the ideal team where he can develop his game.

The Italy international would command a net salary between 2.5 and 3 million euros.

As the source tells it, the player won’t try to force an exit from Torino. Nevertheless, if the Nerazzurri manage to strike an agreement with the Granata, he won’t hesitate to join Simone Inzaghi’s ranks.
