Italy dealt blow as Domenico Berardi set to miss the European Championships | OneFootball

Sassuolo and Serie A star Domenico Berardi is now set to miss the European Championships for Italy after having picked up a serious injury yesterday.

Berardi had returned to action for Sassuolo after over a month out due to another injury and he didn’t last long against Verona yesterday. He was carried out by the club physios, as he was unable to even put his feet on the ground and he was also in tears.

It was suspected to be an Achilles Heel injury and Sassuolo have confirmed that it is indeed the case. The Italian has ruptured his Achilles Tendon and the club carried out medical tests yesterday. Tomorrow, in fact, the player will undergo a surgery in Bologna.

It has also been confirmed (via TMW) that Berardi will not just miss the Euros in the summer, but he would also miss the first half of next season due to the injury, with the winger set to be out for ten months now. He will only return to action for the Neroverdi in 2025.
