Italian national team coach Roberto Mancini is not yet sure whether or not Inter wingback Federico Dimarco will be fit enough to be called up for international duty.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the Azzurri boss made clear that as of yet more time will be needed to assess the Nerazzurri man to see whether or not he can play a role in either of the national team’s two EURO 2024 qualifying matches during the break.

Dimarco was one of the players called up by Mancini for Italy’s squad during the international break, along with Inter teammates Nicolo Barella, Francesco Acerbi, and Matteo Darmian.

However, the 25-year-old’s participation in the matches during the break is cast in doubt by the fact that he picked up an injury during Inter’s Serie A match against Juventus yesterday evening.

It is not yet certain how certain Dimarco’s injury is, but it does look as though there’s a chance that it will mean he’s unable to be a part of the Azzurri’s squad during the break as they face England and Gibraltar in qualifying matches.

“Dimarco is currently undergoing medical tests to see what his condition is, if he’s unable to be called up then someone else will come in in his place,” Mancini said.
