Italian transfer market expert Gianluigi Longari expects that Inter Milan “will sign starting quality players this summer.”
Longari outlined the Nerazzurri’s transfer strategy for the upcoming summer window on SportItalia. He notes that it will be “the first worry-free window in five years” for Inter.
Last summer, Inter Milan had a very quiet transfer window.
The priority had been to keep the existing squad together. Therefore, there were only a few signings, and no major outgoings.
By contrast, the previous summer had seen a whopping twelve players leave, and twelve come in to replace them.
One thing that has been consistent at Inter in recent years has been that the transfer window has seen the club need to meet financial targets.
Inter have had to make big sales of players like Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku, Marcelo Brozovic, and Andre Onana.
That could all change this time around, however. And with it, the club’s transfer strategy may well be different.

SportItalia transfer market report Gianluigi Longari notes that “Inter, who supposedly have ‘two teams’ actually have no more than 13-14 players who can guarantee a level of competitiveness.”
“And they have a salary level that’s nowhere near their top rivals in Europe,” he goes on.
Longari notes that Inter Milan “have been on a European campaign as the team that missed out on the Champions League for a decade.”
“And failed to get past the group stage in three seasons under Spalletti and Conte.”
“But this will allow the Nerazzurri to have a worry-free summer transfer window for the first time in five years.”
“Without having to think about ensuring their [financial] survival.”
Longari notes, “rather, they can focus on building and increasing the level of the squad.”
“Above all, in terms of their standing on the continent.”
“And perhaps add a couple players worthy of being among the fourteen or so starters mentioned above.”
“This could allow them to consistently sit at the table of the top teams on the continent,” Longari suggests. “And have the prospect of once again repeating their assault on the biggest prize of all.”
