With the transfer window almost upon us, Barcelona will be looking to rebuild and restructure their squad in the summer to push for titles and trophies after an underwhelming 2021/22 campaign.

Several incomings are expected over the course of the transfer window, while the Blaugrana will also be looking to clear out the deadwood from the roster in order to make room for the new faces.

Barcelona will also have to make decisions over the futures of the players who have spent the 2021/22 campaign out on loan. Some of the prospects like Inaki Pena and Alex Collado could be given a chance in the first-team setup next season.

At the same time, players like Francisco Trincao and Miralem Pjanic might not have a future at Camp Nou and the club will look for suitors to move them on a permanent basis or another loan deal.

According to SPORT, Pjanic, who has been on loan at Besiktas this season, is attracting interest from several clubs in Italy and could be on his way back to return to Serie A before next season.

The 32-year-old joined Barcelona in 2020 from Italian heavyweights Turin in a complicated deal that saw Arthur Melo move the other way. His debut season was a massive failure as the Bosnian failed to find favour under then-manager Ronald Koeman and was largely reduced to a bit-part player.

Having moved to Besiktas, Pjanic has featured much more prominently and there has been chatter about the Turkish giants signing him permanently. However, finances might prevent them from doing so, which means the midfielder could be back at Camp Nou in the summer.

But it seems like clubs in Italy could be willing to take Pjanic off Barça’s hands in the summer. The 32-year-old had tasted plenty of success in Serie A with AS Roma and Juventus, so the interest from clubs in Italy should not come as a surprise.

It remains to be seen if any of the interested parties make a formal approach for the Bosnian in the coming weeks or if Besiktas consider signing him permanently.
