Italian prosecutors look into Ronaldo sale as Juventus investigation continues

A search has been carried out in Turin as part of an ongoing probe into Juventus and it is believed that Italian prosecutors are examining the financial terms of Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer in the summer.

It is understood that Juventus have been dealing with the authorities after prosecutors said last week they were investigating senior managers over non-existent transactions and more dodgy dealings.

Reports accuse the Serie A giants of ‘inflating’ transfer values on their accounting books, which includes the transfer of Ronaldo as well as Joao Cancelo and Danilo between 2019 and 2021. That’s according to a recent report from Football Italia, who spoke with Marco Donzelli, the President of the Italian Olympic Association.

Since Ronaldo’s name is being dragged into the investigation, we took a quick look at the reports this morning (via Reuters) and it appears to be more of a problem for Juventus than the player or Manchester United.

Ronaldo was simply an asset they held until his return to Old Trafford.

Last night, Ronaldo scored his 801st career goal after netting a brace against Arsenal. He is focused on his football and is unlikely to allow the events in Turin to upset him.

Ronaldo is focused on United and nothing else… well, I’m sure he wants to ensure Portugal qualify for the World Cup too.
