Media outlets in Italy have begun to highlight a poor run of form for Juventus wing-backs Timothy Weah and Filip Kostic, who, on average, rank as the Bianconeri’s worst-performing players over their last five matches.

La Gazzetta dello Sport pointed out on Friday that Weah has been struggling for consistency since his €13m move from Lille in the summer transfer window.

The USMNT international was expected to be the first choice wide-man in Massimiliano Allegri’s 3-5-2 at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, but he has regularly found himself behind compatriot Weston McKennie and the reliable Andrea Cambiaso in the Bianconeri pecking order.

To date, Weah has started eight of Juve’s 27 Serie A matches this term, lasting the full 90 on two occasions. He has only started twic in the league since the beginning of November.

Kostic, in comparison, has been handed more chances as a starter under Allegri. He has been called upon in 23 of Juve’s last 25 matches, 21 times from the first minute.

However, after the last five matches, Kostic and Weah have ranked as Juve’s worst-performing players by La Gazzetta dello Sport’s rankings.

Kostic is posting an average rating of 5.56, and has recently moved below Weah’s rating of 5.61.
