Inter will focus their summer transfer plans around retaining key players and offloading those who have not contributed enough this season, as they attempt to reduce costs.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are under increasing financial pressure and even the arrival of a €250 million loan from one of Oaktree Capital or Bain Capital will not change plans for austerity.

Owners Suning are aiming to lower the wage bill by around 15%, or €30-35m, whilst they will look to offload players currently out on loan, including Radja Nainggolan, Joao Mario, and Dalbert.

Meanwhile, high earners who have not established themselves as key players under Antonio Conte this season will also be made available for transfer, with Chilean duo Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal the third and fourth best paid players at the club, on €7m and €6.5m respectively.

Midfielder Matias Vecino and young striker Andrea Pinamonti are facing an uncertain future at Inter, whilst the club will seek to sell or loan out Ashley Young and Andrea Ranocchia, both set to be out of contract next summer.

The Nerazzurri are determined to hold on to strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, as well as wing-back Achraf Hakimi, whilst young Italian pair Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni are not for sale.

Should Inter be forced to sell a star name to raise funds, they may well sacrifice one of Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan De Vrij or Milan Skriniar.
