Referee Marco Di Bello did a solid job taking charge of Inter’s Serie A win over Roma yesterday and got all the major decisions right.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who praise the Serie A official for keeping things moving along efficiently and showing fairness to both teams.

The match at the Stadio Olimpico could have boiled over, as evidenced by a confrontation between Bryan Cristante and Hakan Calhanoglu, but Di Bello made sure that his authority was clear to both sets of players.

The referee handed out three yellow cards to Giallorossi players and one to Nerazzurri midfielder Nicolo Barella, and in the view of the Corriere all four were correct decisions despite the protestations of Barella in particular.

Meanwhile, Roma had appealed for a penalty for a coming together between Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo, but the newspaper argue that it was clearly not a spot kick given that the Nerazzurri captain got the ball.
