Inter played with “solidity, resolve, and grace” to take three points away from Venice in their Serie A win yesterday evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who highlighted the control of the Nerazzurri’s performance to make a tricky matchup look easy on the road and further establish their title credentials.

Inter will not have taken a win for granted against a Venezia team who have already gotten major results against the likes of Fiorentina and Roma, but they played confidently to keep a clean sheet and take three points back to Milan.

Coach Simone Inzaghi showed respect to the opposition by rotating the team only minimally, with key players like Ivan Perisic and in particular Nicolo Barella deployed to make sure that the team could rise to the occasion.

The players rewarded the coach’s intentions with a display which saw them restrict the home side’s opportunities greatly while also carving out chances of their own.

In the end it was Hakan Calhanoglu who proved to be decisive with his well-taken opening goal from outside the box, capping off a good week for the Turk.

However, the entire team looked to be in firm control in a match which showed that the Nerazzurri have everything they need to get important results such as these.
