Inter will be expecting greater contributions from some key players within their squad on the other side of the international break if their form is to pick up from what it had been prior to the break.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who name Romelu Lukaku, Robin Gosens, Joaquin Correa, Milan Skriniar, and Alessandro Bastoni as five Nerazzurri players who clearly hadn’t been playing at their best before the break.

Lukaku returned to Inter over the summer with significant fanfare, but so far the Belgian has hardly had the opportunity to announce himself in a Nerazzurri shirt once again, as a thigh injury ruled him out of action after just three matches.

The Belgian will be hoping that once he returns after the international break he can immediately make the kind of impact that has been expected of him based on his prior spell at Inter.

Meanwhile, Gosens and Correa are two players who have been signed over the past couple of transfer windows for decent-sized fees but haven’t really justified these, and finally getting the kind of form out of them that they showed for Atalanta and Lazio respectively could be key for the Nerazzurri.

Lastly, Skriniar and Bastoni are both players who were kept by the club over the summer despite transfer interest, but neither have really shown that they are worth resisting major financial offers for so far this season, something that the club will hope to see change in the coming weeks.
