Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will need to breathe new life into Inter upon their return from the international break considering what their form had been heading into the break, and he could turn to three players in particular.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who name striker Romelu Lukaku, wingback Federico Dimarco, and midfielder Kristjan Asllani as candidates to step up and turn things around for the team.

Having Lukaku back in attack promises to be a big turning point for the Nerazzurri, as the 29-year-old was only able to play in his first three matches upon his summer return from Chelsea before a thigh injury ruled him out of the six subsequent ones.

The Belgian may not be quite ready to start against Roma, but even having him on the bench will undoubtedly give the Nerazzurri a much different dimension in attack.

Meanwhile, Dimarco’s form with the Italian national team suggests that he could return from the break a revitalized player, and if he can play with the energy and consistency as well as quality of deliveries that he showed with the Azzurri, could nail down the left wingback spot for himself.

Lastly, Asllani is likely to be thrust into the action in place of the injured Marcelo Brozovic, and if Inzaghi is willing to take a leap of faith with the 20-year-old, could well be rewarded with a real fresh influence in midfield.
