Roma’s win over Napoli saw some unlikely Giallorossi players be hailed as heroes of the night.

In an impressive evening which included the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini and Romelu Lukaku getting back on the team’s scoresheet, it was the midfield and defense that were particularly praised in today’s Italian media reports.

In fact, midfielder Edoardo Bove and centreback Diego Llorente were elected by most newspapers as the best performers of the night, having contained Napoli’s own midfield and attack in the form of Piotr Zielinki, Lobotka and Victor Osimhen.

Jose Mourinho was also praised by the media by reading the game in the second half and applying effective substitutions to bring the three points home.
