Inter have been prolific in front of goal this season, and this owes a lot to the sheer number of ways in which they can create chances and find the back of the net.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report the variety of different types of goals that the Nerazzurri have scored already.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s goal against Venezia over the weekend was the latest example of the Nerazzurri’s ability to score from outside the penalty area in open play.

There are also players in the team capable of finding the back of the net from direct free kicks, with Federico Dimarco having already done so against Sampdoria and Calhanoglu also proficient at taking them.

Simone Inzaghi’s team are a threat on the break, with Joaquin Correa having led devastating counters against the likes of Udinese and Napoli, among other outlets.

From corners the Nerazzurri are also dangerous, with good set piece takers and a number of aerial threats, and they also scored from a throw-in when Lautaro Martinez got on the end of an Ivan Perisic long throw which had been meant to find Edin Dzeko.

Dzeko has also scored headed goals from open play, using his size, movement, and timing to get on the end of crosses from any one of his teammates.

The Nerazzurri have been able to score from spells of long possession, or from intense pressure that has allowed them to win the ball back high up the pitch.

In general, this Inter team have been characterized not only by the number of goals from which they score, but by the fact that they can pose a threat in so many different ways.
