Italian Media Highlight Similarities Between Inter Coach Antonio Conte & Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini | OneFootball

Inter coach Antonio Conte is set to come up against a similar character in Gian Piero Gasperini when his side face Atalanta tomorrow, according to Italian media.

The league leaders welcome La Dea to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for a Serie A clash, as Inter look to maintain their push for a first Scudetto since 2010.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the two coaches have similar approaches to their style of squad management, as well as their own tactical preferences.

Both Conte and Gasperini look to operate with a three-man defence, though the former looks to provide greater defensive solidity by limiting the space in the middle with a three-man midfield between his wing-backs, in a 3-5-2.

Gasperini, meanwhile, favours an attacking midfielder in behind his strikers to create more freedom for his team and uses a 3-4-1-2 formation.

On a personal level, the two tacticians are described as fiery and passionate, with a history of picking up bookings on the touchline, whilst neither are afraid to challenge referees, opponents or journalists.

For both Conte and Gasperini, their styles require concerted efforts on the training ground and huge demands are placed on players, with an expectation of strong mentality and attitude, as well as absolute loyalty and dedication to their methods.
