Inter have already kicked off their season with some late drama after they left it to the final moments to secure a 2-1 win against Lecce in their Serie A opener on Saturday.

This is hardly the first time that the Nerazzurri have left it late under coach Simone Inzaghi, with today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport hailing the return of “Inzaghi time” with this being the tenth goal the team have scored after the 85th minute under the coach.

Last season Inter had some memorable late moments, including their last-gasp winner against Venezia in Serie A and a similarly late equalizer against Torino, whilst they needed to wait until stoppage time for Andrea Ranocchia to equalize against Empoli in the Coppa Italia on their way to winning the competition.

Inzaghi’s players cannot be accused of giving up when they’re behind, and the coach appears to have instilled an instinct to keep forcing the issue no matter what, with tiring defenses sometimes finally relenting only in the last minutes of matches after resisting up to that point.

Now, with the coach seeing his team snatch three points from a situation that had looked to be headed towards a frustrating stalemate yet again, it looks likely that this trend will continue.
