Italian Media Highlight Poor Displays From Inter’s Matias Vecino & Roberto Gagliardini

Inter midfield duo Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini have been criticised for their performances against Empoli in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As was reported by Tuttosport whilst handing out their ratings for the players after the 3-2 victory for Inter, Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini did not seize the opportunity presented to them after Simone Inzaghi gave them a rare starting opportunity.

The Uruguayan was given a rating of five out of 10 whilst Roberto Gagliardini was given a 5.5 out of 10. Two players in particular came in for praise in the ratings.

They were Denzel Dumfries who set up the first Nerazzurri goal, he received a rating of 7.5 out of 10, and Alexis Sanchez who got the same for scoring the opening goal of the game.

Despite not having the best of games overall, Andrea Ranocchia received seven out of 10 for his amazing equaliser in stoppage time.
