Since Lautaro Martinez’s return from the World Cup last month, the Inter striker has looked more motivated than ever and has emerged as a real talisman in attack for his club.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note how despite a personally disappointing tournament in Qatar, the 25-year-old looks to have carried the momentum over from what proved to be a perfect ending.

Martinez had significant expectation on his shoulders in Qatar, where he came into the tournament as an unquestioned starter for the Argentine national team.

The Inter striker lost his place after a couple poor performances, and despite making a couple telling contributions from the bench never started in the knockout rounds as the Albiceleste lifted the trophy.

However, Martinez clearly got a boost in confidence from lifting the title rather than being demoralized by the personal disappointment of being dropped from the starting eleven.

Martinez has six goals in the Nerazzurri’s last seven matches, sometimes dragging the team through matches in attack.

This is something that Inter have sorely needed given that injuries and fitness problems have continued to mean that Romelu Lukaku has unable to really fire the team despite the massive expectations around him.
