Inter’s squad is currently the oldest in Serie A, highlighting the reason why one of the team’s priority in the upcoming transfer window looks to be to refresh the squad and bring down an average age that is closest to thirty.

This is noted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who point out that the average age in the Nerazzurri’s squad is 28.8 years old, and that number jumps to 29.3 years old if not factoring in 17-year-old Valentin Carboni.

Inter’s squad does have some young players in it such as defender Alessandro Bastoni, wingback Federico Dimarco, and goalkeeper Andre Onana.

However, experienced players like Edin Dzeko, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Francesco Acerbi drag the average age up.

The average age is over 29 if Carboni’s age is not factored in, considering that the Argentine teenager rarely features for the Nerazzurri.

The second-oldest squad in Serie A belongs to Lazio, who have an average age of 28.0, whilst Juventus and Roma have an average age of 27.0.

In terms of Inter’s top four rivals, Napoli’s squad has an average age of 26.1, and AC Milan are the lowest at the bunch with an average age of 25.7.
