There are two possible ways that Radja Nainggolan could stay at Cagliari past the end of his current loan spell according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Inter midfielder joined the Sardinia based outfit on a season long loan for the 2019/20 season and Nainggolan is in favour of staying as is newly appointed Cagliari manager Eusebio Di Francesco.

Nainggolan has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season which he earns a net annual salary of €4 million from, a sum out of Cagliari’s reach.

Inter could perhaps let Nainggolan join the Rossoblu side on a two year loan deal and pay as little of the wages as possible. For the current loan spell they are paying half of his annual pay packet.

Alternatively, the report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Cagliari could sign him permanently and spread the cost of his salary out over a longer term contract.
