Talks of a Manchester United move for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen refuse to die down with an Italian media outlet now claiming the Red Devils have accepted the Nigerian’s wage demands.
It was recently relayed by The Peoples Person that the Galatasaray loanee was demanding around £300,000-per-week to sign on the dotted lines, something INEOS was refusing to pay given their wish to reduce an already bloated wage bill.
Which is why the Nigerian international’s entourage was looking at a possible lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal among those who are interested.
But Tutto Juve have claimed that is not the case, insisting that the 20-time English league champions have agreed to Osimhen’s demands while also agreeing to pay Napoli’s release clause of €75 million.
“Victor Osimhen could finally find a new destination. The Super Eagles striker, on loan from Napoli SC to Galatasaray, has repeatedly expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.
“He has attracted interest from major English clubs such as Chelsea, Newcastle United, Arsenal and especially Manchester United.
“The Red Devils have reportedly offered the player an annual salary of €15 million. Manchester United are said to be willing to pay his club €75 million.
“However, the deal is taking time to be finalized, due to a whim on the part of the Nigerian star. Juventus currently appear to be further behind.”
Recently, there were reports from Turkey which had stated that the former Lille hitman is Old Trafford-bound with personal terms agreed.
It is well-known that the Naples club are reluctant to strengthen a direct rival like the Bianconeri, which explains why they have been trying to negotiate with English clubs.
Unfortunately, Chelsea have exited the race, which leaves United as the only other contender for the 26-year-old’s signature.
He fits Amorim’s vision perfectly and is a bonafide superstar and ruthless in front of goal, which his 31 goals this season will attest to.
However, INEOS might not be in a position to pay such humongous money without Europa League success and major player sales. Which is why Liam Delap and Jean-Philippe Mateta are seen as more realistic targets.
Italian media is not always the most accurate and United fans must take this story with a huge pinch of salt.
