A report from Italian newspaper Il Messaggero has suggested that Inter do have the possibility of signing Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The report details how the Nerazzurri’s owners the Suning group previously stated their dream of signing the 33-year-old Argentine star back in 2016, and so could make an attempt four years later.
The deal would instantly make Inter one of the most discussed clubs in the world and bring in expensive new sponsors.
Both his father and Messi himself have purchased properties in Milan, the report continues, although there is a chance that it’s for purely financial reasons.
The Spanish media are convinced that a deal is genuinely possible, with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu the only one optimistic that the 33-year-old will sign a contract extension.
His father brought him to Catalonia all those years ago and could be the guide in a move to Inter this summer, although the player does have a €700 million release clause.
