Italian Media Brand Inter’s Signing Of Edin Dzeko From Roma A “Transfer Market Masterpiece”

Inter have seen a major contribution in front of goal from Edin Dzeko since the Bosnian’s arrival from Roma, while they did not have to pay much for his services.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who label Dzeko’s signing after the blockbuster sale of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea a “transfer market masterpiece.”

Lukaku’s departure sent shockwaves through the Nerazzurri given the Belgian’s importance at the club the past two seasons, but the club also brought in €115 million for him.

The first player brought in as the Nerazzurri looked to reinvest some of that record fee was Dzeko, with the 35-year-old no longer having a place at Roma.

Apart from the player’s wages, the Nerazzurri will only have to pay the Giallorossi a €1.5 million add-on for the Bosnian in the event that they qualify for the Champions League next season.

In return for this sum they have gotten a striker who looks as prolific in front of goal as Lukaku had, and at a fee that is only a tiny fraction of what they received for the Belgian.
