Italian Media Brand Inter’s Draw Against Atalanta At The San Siro As Spectacular

Inter’s 2-2 draw against Atalanta at the San Siro yesterday evening has been noted for being a fast-paced attacking spectacle.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight that the match was intense and full of event, with both sides taking a proactive and direct approach to provide great entertainment.

Neither Inter or Atalanta are teams who have lacked goals in recent seasons, and so it proved with each side doing their bit to put on a back-and-forth match from which the points were shared.

The Nerazzurri will feel that they should have won it after seeing Federico Dimarco’s late penalty hit the crossbar, while La Dea also thought that they had taken all three points late on before Roberto Piccoli’s strike was disallowed by VAR because the ball went out of play in the buildup.

Even without these two goals, the match was high scoring even by the recent standards of Serie A, virtually end to end at times with much creative talent and physicality on show in a match which the Gazzetta called “Inter-Atalanta from the Premier League.”

The Nerazzurri will be frustrated that they were unable to take three points from the encounter, seeing Milan overtake them in the table with a win over Spezia and potentially also seeing Napoli extend their lead at the top of the table, but the match was undeniably great entertainment for fans.
