Italian journalist Xavier Jacobelli believes that wing-back Robin Gosens can have a significant impact for Inter.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Jacobelli highlighted the reasons why Gosens can be the perfect signing for the Nerazzurri to bolster an important position in the squad.

Gosens should officially be made an Inter player in the next couple days once his medicals are wrapped up, and he will initially arrive on loan to back up Ivan Perisic for the rest of the season before succeeding the Croat in the long term.

The 27-year-old has already established a very positive reputation in Italian football with his performances for Atalanta, and as Jacobelli points out, he has the potential to take the step up to Inter very well.

Gosens has characteristics that make him well-suited to Inter’s style of play under Simone Inzaghi and can certainly strengthen the team.

“The Nerazzurri, with a deal worth around €25 million, make a good signing in a very important role,” Jacobelli said, “especially since the negotiations for the renewal of Perisic are going to be long.”

He went on that “Gosens is yet another testimony of the excellent work of Atalanta on the transfer market.”
