Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini has said that Inter are at risk of losing Milan Skriniar on a free transfer this summer to Paris Saint Germain, according to a report in the Italian media.

As was written by the journalist in his column for Calciomercato.com, he feels that the chances of the Slovakian defender leaving Inter on a free transfer are very high given the contract situation and the interest from PSG.

He started by explaining that he thinks the bid made by the Ligue 1 champions in the summer was much lower than what many thought it was.

“I see it this way: almost imaginary negotiations are being fuelled. If PSG had really offered €60 million, Inter would have had to – in case of non-transferability – secure the renewal.

“I understand that the offer was not €60/65 million. The offer was around half, as I understand it. Skriniar is now not renewing and the situation will arise again.”

He also added that he thinks the €100 million that Suning are injecting into the elcub is more to do with getting good press rather than actually running the club properly. It was then that he also added that he thinks there is little chance of them actually renewing Milan Skriniar’s deal.

“Zhang’s recharge of €100 million seems to me a nice journalistic construction: if it will be €7 million plus bonuses like Brozovic, if you give him four years that’s already €60 million for Skriniar here. My prediction: the chance of him leaving for free is very high.”
