Italian Journalist On Lautaro Martinez & Joaquin Correa Partnership: “I See Two Players That Are Too Similar”

An Italian football journalist has suggested that the much-anticipated partnership for Inter of Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa will not be very effective, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to Sky Sport 24, with quotes reported by FCInter1908, Riccardo Gentile explained that he thinks the two Argentine forwards are too similar to each other and that will stop them from forming an effective partnership.

“I have my doubts that Lautaro and Correa could be a couple in terms of characteristics.

“The Correa-Lautaro solution technically for me has problems. I see two players too similar to make up a couple.”

He qualified this opinion by suggesting that there is a clear difference between the qualities of Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko, which is proof that Inter have changed their approach when it comes to strikers.

That is why to Riccardo Gentile, it makes no sense to have the two Argentine strikers who are very similar in their playing style.

“Lukaku did not have a reserve, he was an indestructible and tireless player: going from him to Dzeko also entails this.

“Between these two there is a difference in age and explosiveness. Dzeko will technically be better and better, but Lukaku has other skills.”

Inter fans could be getting their first experience of seeing Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa starting a match together when Bologna visit San Siro on Saturday.
