Italian Journalist Luca Marchetti: “Inter Not Willing To Sell Milan Skriniar For Any Old Price & So They’re Selling Cesare Casadei” | OneFootball

Italian journalist Luca Marchetti believes that Inter are selling midfielder Cesare Casadei this summer because they do not want to part ways with Milan Skriniar.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Marchetti explained the Nerazzurri’s rationale for cashing in on the 19-year-old, as they do not feel that the conditions in the market are right for making a big sale of Skriniar.

Inter had gone into the summer with the expectation being that they would sell one of their highest-value players, but with just a couple weeks left in the transfer window it looks increasingly unlikely that they will do so.

One of the main reasons for this is the fact that the Nerazzurri have not yet received any suitable offers, as while they would have likely been open to cashing in on a player like Milan Skriniar for a truly huge offer, they do not want to sell him if the bid is not high enough.

“Inter can’t sell players for just any price,” Marchetti explained, “which is why Skriniar isn’t leaving – a suitable offer hasn’t arrived with respect to the going rate for defenders, although we can’t predict whether an offer of at least €70 million will come in the next few days.”

“Inter will probably sell Casadei to Chelsea for €15 million plus add-ons,” he continued, “and the reference for the sale of Inter is precisely the English market.”

“If you buy Cucurella for €65 million, when you ask for Skriniar or Dumfries you have to pay a similar amount,” he explained. “From a sporting point of view Inter don’t want to sell Skriniar, then there’s always the financial question to keep in mind.”

“We have to make choices, sometimes painful ones, and for this reason the club is thinking of selling Casadei,” he explained.
