Italian journalist Giovanni Capuano has come to the defence of Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio, who has often found himself criticsed for the job he does by Inter fans.
Ausilio has often been the one criticsed when signings have turned out poorly but Capuano has pointed out that Ausilio is more than capable of doing his job as evidenced by two of the biggest deals he has done in recent seasons.
Those deals are the ones for Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club back in 2018 for circa €20 million and the one for Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid for €45 million in this transfer window.
Ausilio’s future has been up in the air as of late with him drawing strong links to Roma but in a recent interview he dismissed the rumours surrounding his future.
Ausilio has been involved with Inter for well over a decade and has held his current position at the club since February 2014.
Capuano took to social media platform Twitter and posted: “The incapable Ausilio managed to sign Lautaro Martinez (as Sabatini said) and Hakimi (as Marotta said) and to say that Twitter almost convinced me that he should have been thrown out.”
