Torino’s Bremer is Inter’s first choice should Dutch international Stefan de Vrij leave the Nerazzurri this coming summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia’s transfer market expert Gianluigi Longari, speaking in an interview with The Italian Football Podcast published earlier today.

The 24-year old Brazilian Torino defender has been linked to a host of clubs this season, including Inter and cross-town rivals AC Milan, after a season where many pundits have argued that he’s been the best defender in the Serie A this season.

However, a move to the Nerazzurri hinges on Stefan de Vrij departing the club this coming summer with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspurs being heavily linked with the former Lazio defender.

The Dutchman’s current deal with the Nerazzurri expires at the end of June 2023 and talks with his agent Mino Raiola have not taken off which could prompt a departure in the summer.

Should that occur, then Inter CEO Beppe Marotta considers Bremer the ideal replacement, whose current deal with Torino expires at the end of June 2023.

“I think that Inter are going to restyle their defence ahead of next season. We have to consider that Stefan de Vrij could leave Inter this coming summer because he arrived as a free transfer from Lazio.

“This means that any money Inter receive for him would be a huge capital gains for the club. There are so many clubs interested in him, with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham being a main candidate.

“Should Stefan de Vrij leave then Inter’s first choice is Torino’s Bremer. Inter could decide to take two players, like they did last summer when Lukaku left and they signed Correa and Dzeko.

“So they could replace de Vrij with Bremer and one defender on a free transfer.”
