Italian Journalist Gianluigi Longari: “Inter In Pole Position To Sign Sassuolo Duo Gianluca Scamacca & Davide Frattesi” | OneFootball

Inter are currently leading the race to sign Sassuolo duo Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi this coming June.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia’s transfer market expert Gianluigi Longari, speaking in an interview with The Italian Football Podcast published earlier today.

Gianluca Scamacca has been linked with a host of clubs including Juventus but the Nerazzurri lead the race to sign the player next summer.

This is because Inter CEO Beppe Marotta began talks with Sassuolo last summer and have been working on a deal since then, Longari revealed.

Scamacca is not the only Italian Sassuolo player the Nerazzurri are interested in signing Longari continued.

Midfielder Davide Frattesi has been linked for quite some time to Inter and club CEO Beppe Marotta is looking to swoop in for the young midfielder in the summer as well.

Sassuolo’s Giacomo Raspadori, who has also been linked to Inter and Juventus, is likely to stay with the Neroverdi over next season Longari continued.

Should Lautaro Martinez leave Inter that could change as Raspadori is seen as the Argentinian’s ideal replacement should he depart.

“Inter are in pole position to sign Gianluca Scamacca next summer. They began talking with Sassuolo last summer, Beppe Marotta is in contact maybe every day with Sassuolo’s Giovanni Carnevali for this reason, also because of Frattesi.

“So Inter are currently in pole position to sign both Scamacca and Frattesi in the summer.

“Sassuolo want to keep Raspadori for another season. Juventus like him as well as Scamacca and Frattesi very much and things could change before the summer.

“However, as things stand right now Inter are in pole position for Scamacca and Frattesi but there is nothing advanced for Raspadori.

“If Inter were to sell Lautaro Martinez in the summer then I think Raspadori would be the replacement for him but Lautaro just recently extended his contract so there’s nothing advanced there.”
