Inter’s Serie A clash against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona tomorrow evening promises to be a fascinating tactical battle, according to Italian journalist Francesco Baiano.

Antonio Conte’s league leaders look to take another step closer to the Scudetto when they travel south, but come up against a Napoli team under Gennaro Gattuso that have won four of their last five games.

In an interview on Italian radio station Radio CRC earlier today, Baiano claimed that Napoli would be looking to take the initiative in the match whilst Inter would counter.

Tomorrow Napoli will look to play their game because Inter are good at closing down,” Baiano declared.

“Conte’s team know how to contain and then start again with great speed. Sometimes it seems that the Inter players are travelling on of motorbikes.”

The journalist also felt that Napoli had the attacking threat to trouble Inter’s backline, in particular through Belgian forward Dries Mertens.

“Napoli have the right characteristics to put Inter’s defence in great difficulty. The Nerazzurri’s central players, if caught out over the top, do not seem quick enough. For this reason, I believe that the best solution is to start with Mertens”, he continued.

Inter go into the match off the back of 11 consecutive Serie A victories and are just 13 points away from sealing a first Scudetto since 2010.
