Christian Eriksen produced a decent performance for Inter against Fiorentina and will only be rated poorly in tomorrow’s papers to create controversy, according to Italian journalist and Nerazzurri fan Fabrizio Biasin.

Eriksen was given the rare opportunity to start in Wednesday afternoon’s Coppa Italia match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and was started in an unfamiliar role with Inter coach Antonio Conte opting to deploy him as a regista.

The Danish national team player played the entirety of the match in Florence, which Inter eventually won 2-1 after extra-time, and Biasin has taken to social media platform Twitter to highlight some of the crucial things that Eriksen did during his performance.

Biasin posted: “Here’s my opinion which you didn’t ask for on Eriksen’s performance.

“He lost the ball in dangerous areas a couple of times, but he took the shot which led to Inter’s penalty and at the end he tried a curling effort and took the corner which led to a Romelu Lukaku header.

“You will read ratings below 6/10, because the Eriksen saga creates ‘traffic’ for the media.

“Don’t pay attention to them.”

The stats from the match between La Viola and the Nerazzurri also painted an encouraging picture for Eriksen, with no Inter player covering more ground than the former Tottenham midfielder.

Moreover, he ran the second quickest and sprinted the second quickest during the match as well.
