“It would be a shock to the system,” Callum McGregor

Callum McGregor is faced, as usual, with a full schedule with  Celtic and Scotland fixtures coming thick and fast this season.  However, the Celtic captain is quite relaxed about that and has joked about the absurd game time he ends up playing just about week of the year.

McGregor has been a key part of the Celtic midfield, appearing in 12 domestic games already this season, with the 13 on the horizon following Scotland’s final game of Group B against Ukraine. As reported by GlasgowLive, McGregor clearly doesn’t have a problem with the volume of football he ends up playing.

“I play 70 matches a season! It would be a shock to the system if I didn’t play three games a week. We understand we have got ourselves in a brilliant position now to top the group.

“Now it’s just about going to try and finish that job. That’s where we want to be. That was the target and goal for us when the Nations League started and we were in Pot C. We wanted to get up the pots and play against better teams. That would ultimately develop the team and make players better.”

“That’s where we want to be, and we understand the repercussions of the group and this game on Tuesday night. It’s a big game for us and we must do everything we can to perform.”

Best of luck tonight Callum, but please come home safe, sound and injury free!
