Dutch international midfielder Victoria Pelova says that she has joined her dream club after completing her move to Arsenal.

The 23-year-old sealed her move from Ajax to The Gunners yesterday. Pelova is the first arrival of what promises to be a very busy transfer window for Arsenal.

Speaking after completing her move, Pelova admitted that she was nervous to come to England but joining Arsenal was her dream.

“I was really nervous to come here and to move but London is a really nice city and I can speak the language,” Pelova told Arsenal’s official media team.

“It was always my dream club Arsenal so that’s why I wanted to join.”

Pelova has already played against her new teammates twice this season. The midfielder was a member of an Ajax side that Arsenal defeated over two legs in Round 2 of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League. Pelova went on to say that she is very excited to be part of the Arsenal team and she is especially looking forward to playing alongside Kim Little and Beth Mead.

She said “There was a lot of fight between the players but I really enjoyed playing against Kim Little. I didn’t know everybody but then when you play them, you see how good they really are. It was fantastic.

“I knew about the England players but didn’t know much about Kim Little. When I played against her, I realised that she was so good so that was really nice to see.

“I’m excited to play with Beth (Mead) because I like her style of play. I’m excited to play with everyone.”

Pelova could make her Arsenal debut against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
