Yerry Mina was part of the Colombia side which was eliminated from the Copa América on Friday.
After a goalless draw in São Paulo, it was Chile who prevailed on penalties, with Alexis Sánchez netting the decisive spot-kick in the shoot-out.
But Everton defender Mina was right in the thick of the action all evening.
First, he and Sánchez were lucky to escape punishment after tempers flared and they squared up to each other in the first half.
And in the second half, the Toffees centre-back was involved in a similar altercation with Eduardo Vargas.
But the former Barcelona man had an excellent game overall, managing six clearances, two interceptions and two tackles.
And when it was his turn to take a penalty in the shoot-out, he made no mistake from 12 yards.

Mina celebrated finding the net by removing his shin-pads and dancing in front of the Colombia supporters.
But his joy was short lived when William Tesillo missed Los Cafeteros’ next penalty, handing Sánchez the opportunity to win it.
Mina will now go off on his summer holidays before reporting back to Finch Farm for pre-season training.
