"It was a game for the fans – coaches want to see more control": Reaction to Bayern Munich's 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund

Vincent Kompany (head coach): "It was a game for the fans. I think as coaches sometimes you want that little bit of control, like in the first half, and then to believe that your chances will create a difference. But in the second half it was just enthusiasm. We wanted to be six points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen at the end of this weekend and we still have six points."

Harry Kane (forward): "I think we can live with the point. It was an intense game, both teams had chances. We stood up well in the first half, didn't concede much, but didn't do much going forward either. It became more open in the second half, we took more risks and were more vulnerable at the back. Having saif that, we scored two nice goals, which is something you have to take with you. In the end, it was a game that could have gone either way. It was certainly attractive for the spectators. Now we have to think game by game, put everything into it and then we'll see what the point is worth at the end."

Thomas Müller (forward): "I appreciate being named Man of the Match. Thanks a lot, thanks a lot. It was a long time together with you guys out there watching us and watching me, but it's not done yet. We have four, maybe six very interesting upcoming weeks, so I'll try to stay sharp."

Niko Kovač (head coach): "You got one chance and you need to score, especially here in Munich. And then in the second half we played better. We had better ball possession phases, so that means we played a little bit more dominant and with confidence. I'm happy with the point."

Gregor Kobel (goalkeeper): "I think it was a really tough game. It was a really hard game for me personally – I feel tired right now, but I think it's a really good performance from the whole team, especially after we went down 2-1."

Waldemar Anton (defender): "Ultimately, we wanted to take more from the game. There's still room for improvement, but we'll take the point. Who knows what it will be good for at the end of the season. Our plan was definitely to keep a clean sheet for as long as possible. I'd say we defended well in the first half, but didn't get much going forwards. Once we had the ball, we often lost it quickly. We need to be better at that and do the simple things better."
