It seems Joe Hart could have a Manchester City future after all

Manchester City outcast Joe Hart looks is a surprise inclusion on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

Hart played just one game under Pep Guardiola before he was sent out on loan to Serie A side Torino in the summer of 2016.

The 31-year-old then returned to Manchester last year, only to be sent out on loan again, to West Ham United.

He’s now back training with the Blues again and the former England goalkeeper will travel to Chicago with the rest of the squad this week.

Whether that means he has a City future under Guardiola remains to be seen, however. Hart still has one year left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium and is understood to be seeking a permanent move away to get regular first-team football this summer.

Ederson has not yet returned to pre-season training after he was included in Brazil’s World Cup squad, while Claudio Bravo’s future at the Premier League champions remains unclear, but if Hart did stay at City, he would likely be second choice goalkeeper at best.

If he does leave, he will probably have to take a significant pay-cut from the £100,000-a-week he currently earns at City.

Last week, Angus Gunn left the club to join Southampton in a deal worth £15m, while young goalkeeper Aro Muric appears to be on the verge of joining Eredivisie side NAC Breda on loan.

If Hart doesn’t stick around, it is thought 20-year-old Daniel Grimshaw will become the club’s third-choice goalkeeper.

City kick off their pre-season schedule when they take on Borussia Dortmund at Soldier Field on Thursday.
