Thierry Henry has named Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka as players that he can ‘relate to’, as you can see what playing for Arsenal means to them.

The youngsters both came through the academy in north London, and have quickly established themselves in the first-team setup, and are debatably our two most important players in the squad at present.

Saka was the club’s Player of the season for last season, despite being the youngest regular in the first-team, while Smith Rowe has been one of our most consistent players throughout the new term, improving on his breakthrough campaign.

Henry has now moved to praise the duo, talking during Amazon’s coverage of last night’s match as quoted in the Star.

“Bukayo Saka, Smith Rowe, and I know I’m talking about improvement, when I watch Arsenal those are the two guys I can relate to,” he said.

“I can see that it matters to them. Those are the two players that make me watch Arsenal more than the others.”

I think every Gunner can understand exactly Henry means here. They seem to live and breathe Arsenal, and play in the spirit of what the club has been famous for. They are raw, but confident and fearless and want to give their all for the shirt. It’s evident in the way they approach every match, and I doubt there is a single Gunner out there who doubts their heart.

They are the present and the future of Arsenal football club, and they’re still just at the starts of their careers.
