Gabriel Jesus says he is hoping the injury which forced him off against Sevilla is nothing serious.

Jesus assisted and then scored as the Gunners beat the Spanish side 2-1 in the Champions League but the forward was subbed off late on with what appeared to be a hamstring issue.

“Well, let’s see,” Jesus said when asked about the injury.

“I was tired, to be honest, but I never want to go out. Obviously I’ll always respect what the manager decides.

“It was unlucky, unfortunately, but let’s see what it is.

“I did some tests with the physio, it looks not that big, but let’s see,” he also told TNT Sports. “I have a scan, maybe tomorrow. I’m pretty sure it will be nothing.”

The victory puts Arsenal top of their group at the halfway stage, four points ahead of third-placed Sevilla.

“It’s not easy when you come here to play in Europe against difficult teams, that’s the Champions League you know,” Jesus added.

“There’s always quality teams, the way we came here and played with courage, everyone and the whole team played amazing.

“After we scored the two goals it made things easier but after we conceded, the way we defended and we fought, it was amazing.

“Now it’s to keep this energy and to give us a little bit more confidence.

“I always enjoy a goal and I think the assist was good. I say all the time to the defenders to clear the ball to try to find me and Gabi (Gabriel) did today.”
