‘It is his own fault’ – Ibrahimovic gives expletive response when asked about Pulisic’s leadership

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Christian Pulisic should be a bit more vocal in order to show that he can fully become a leader for AC Milan and the USA.

There is no doubting that Pulisic has established himself as one of the most important players at Milan since arriving from Chelsea in the summer 2023 window, racking up 23 goals and 17 assists in 70 games.

Pulisic gave an interview to The Athletic as part of the promotional activities surrounding his new docuseries titled Pulisic, produced by CBS Sports and streamed on Paramount+. As part of it, they got some quotes from Ibrahimovic too.

The Swede says the only thing he sees a ‘little bit negative’ about Pulisic is that he is ‘a little bit quiet’:  “He is known for being Captain America, but he doesn’t like to be Captain America. He doesn’t maybe see himself like a superhero.

“He is playing low profile and with his feet on the ground. But you are Captain America, I don’t give a s*** what you say, you are. If that is more pressure on you, I don’t care. It is his own fault – if you weren’t so good, we wouldn’t ask anything from you.”

Sadly, the USA international will have to sit out tonight’s game against Red Star in the Champions League and potentially the rest of 2024 after picking up a calf injury during the defeat to Atalanta.
