It's been a relatively disappointing campaign for Watford, but there has been one shining light in particular at Vicarage Road.
20-year-old Colombian midfielder Yaser Asprilla has been a standout performer for the Hornets this season, so much so that it feels highly likely that he'll be departing the club this summer for bigger and better things.
Asprilla was a complete unknown when he was signed from Colombian outfit Envigado in January 2022 as an 18-year-old, but he's proven to be an outstanding find, and Watford's scouts deserve huge praise for unearthing a hidden gem.
However, with just three Championship games left of the season, Watford supporters should enjoy watching him play while they can, with Asprilla likely to attract transfer interest, just like he has done in the past.
With Watford out of the mix for promotion and the play-off places, they'll be a Championship side again next season, and Yaser Asprilla may well want to test himself at a higher level at this stage in his career.
The Colombian international attracted transfer interest from Everton late on in the January transfer window, according to TeamTalk, whilst European giants Barcelona were also said to be interested in him ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Diario Sport.
Whilst Watford won't particularly lose a player of Asprilla's quality, they could be in for a very welcome payday, with the Hornets said to value him at between £34million and £43million as he has two years left on his deal at Vicarage Road.
This may be a potential sticking point for interested clubs, as that's clearly a lot of money for a Championship player who has no top-flight experience other than in the Colombian league.
However, it's clear that Asprilla is a very talented player, and it would be quite a surprise if he was still a Watford player when the summer transfer window closes.
With this in mind, the Vicarage Road faithful should make the most of what could likely be Asprilla's final few weeks as a Watford player, with the Colombian player destined to attract transfer interest from top clubs yet again.
Watford will be able to stand firm in transfer negotiations as the player has two years left on his deal, so whilst they may not receive the full £34m to £43m that they're reportedly demanding, they're likely to receive a big fee, which could subsequently be reinvested in the squad.
Yaser Asprilla has made 41 Championship appearances for the Hornets so far this season, starting 25 of them.
He's played in a variety of positions, including midfield, wing and as a centre-forward, according to Transfermarkt, and his versatility makes him an attractive prospect for any interested club.
He's scored six times and registered six assists in the league, which makes him Watford's third top scorer this season.
According to Fotmob, Asprilla has recorded some very impressive stats this season, and is in the top 10% of Championship players for a number of statistics.
Shots on target (26), expected assists (5.79), accurate long balls (66), chances created (63), successful crosses (30), successful dribbles (50) and recoveries (42) are all among some of the best in the division.
Asprilla has been fantastic for Watford this season despite playing in a side which hasn't set the world alight.
Given his age, potential and recent performances, the Colombian midfielder is bound to attract transfer interest this summer, and could well depart the club. With potentially just three games left in a Watford shirt, Hornets supporters really need to make the most of watching Yaser Asprilla.
